What is HistoriKC Fest? HistoriKC Fest is a 4 day game convention for wargames, 18xx, and other historical board. HistoriKC Fest primarily focuses on hex-and-counter wargames but all type of board gaming is welcomed and encouraged at HistoriKC Fest.
When and Where? HistoriKC Fest 2023 is August 17-20, 2023 at Holiday Inn & Suites Overland Park-West located at 8787 Reeder St, Overland Park, KS 66214.
What is included with admission? For 2023 we are including food, drink and happy hour offerings with your price of admission (subject to change but expect similar offerings as 2022). The final menu and schedule for meals/snacks/happy hour is not final and we reserve the right to change but our initial plan is Friday and Saturday breakfast, Friday and Saturday afternoon snacks and beverages, and Friday and Saturday Happy Hour for guests over 21 (Yes that’s right, free beer!).

What is included in the discounted ASL only badge? We are offering an ASL play only badge which only includes admission to the Summer Sizzler tournament and associated ASL events, no other events. Food, drink and general convention prize support are not available to these badges.
What about Covid? Whatever requirements and guidelines the City/County/State and/or Convention center have in place we will follow at HistoriKC Fest.
Is lodging available? A block of rooms has been made available to guests of HistoriKC Fest at the Holiday Inn & Suites. A link will be provided upon registration.
Can I bring in food or drink? Holiday Inn has a strict policy against bringing in outside food and drink. There is a restaurant attached to the hotel. We ask that you follow this policy.
What can I do in Kansas City? WWI Museum, Union Station, Street Car, Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, Jazz Museun, Kansas City barbecue (just ask for a recommendation), Kansas City Royals, local board game stores, Boulevard Brewing, Tom’s Town Distillery, Kansas City Power & Light District, Sporting Kansas City.
What events are available? Please check our Schedule page. Sign up for an event when you register. Event space is based on a first come, first served basis so sign up early!
Can I host an event or demo a game at HistoriKC Fest? Absolutely, please e-mail HistoriKCFest to make arrangements.
Can I leave my stuff set up over night? Yes, the room will locked just before midnight on Friday and Saturday
Can I play a monster game?/Can I use a request a large playing area? Yes we just ask that you contact us ahead of time with how much space you will need and how many days you will need it.
