The uncertainty of COVID-19 has certainly made planning a first time convention a challenge. However, for the time being, we still plan to proceed forward with HistoriKC Fest 2020.
I still believe that Kansas City is a great spot to host a historical game convention and look forward to sitting around the tables with all of you. I also think that announcing some safety procedures now, as opposed to later, is the right thing to do. Our goal is to make you feel as comfortable and safe at HistoriKC Fest as we can. Accordingly the following procedures will be in place. These are subject to change.
1) Masks will be mandatory.
2) Tables will be at least 6 feet apart, with 1 game at each table.
3) The HASL Summer Sizzler event is cancelled for the time being. The normal 1v1 ASL tournament will still go on but the large group game (which would involve several people around a table in close proximity) is what we are cancelling for now.
4) We will provide as much hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes as we can.
5) The limited game library will not be available.
We completely understand if this impacts your decision to attend our convention. We also understand if you are on the fence or do not feel comfortable attending. Please do what you are comfortable with.
